The California Highway Patrol has released new details on the deadly crash that claimed the life of a 28-year-old Bakersfield man.
According to the CHP, Alex Moreno was driving westbound on DiGiorgio Road in Lamont just before 6 p.m. Saturday when a Ford pickup truck drove out in front of him, forcing Moreno's car to hit the rear of the Ford.
The pickup veered off the road and hit a telephone pole.
A semi-truck was headed down the road at the same time and collided with Moreno's car.
Moreno was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup left the scene on foot.
