The Delano Police Department is investigating a deadly vehicle versus pedestrian crash.
Officials said around 6 a.m. Thursday morning officers were dispatched to the area of Garces Hwy. and Albany St. regarding an unresponsive man on the dirt shoulder.
Patrol officers arrived, located the man, and immediately performed CPR.
Officers later determined the man was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lane of the 200 block of West Garces Highway.
The adult man was transported to Delano Regional Medical center by ambulance, he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle has been cooperative and did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
