Saturday, May 26:
- Fifth Annual Presentation of Thousand Flags
- Where: Park at River Walk
- When: Display opens Saturday 11:30 a.m., National Anthem and raising of the entrance flag at 12 p.m.
- Flag lowered at sunset, approximately 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
- Flags flown through the weekend
- Flag sponsorships are available at $50 per flag. Proceeds go to causes including Honor Flight Kern County, Wreaths Across America and other projects
- Bakersfield National Cemetery to host ceremony
- Where: Bakersfield National Cemetery on Bear Mountain Boulevard/SR-223
- When: Saturday at 9 a.m. (expected to last 45 minutes)
- Various speakers and musicians set to attend
- Salute to Kern's Fallen Heroes
- Where: Kern Veterans Memorial on Truxton Avenue and S Street
- When: Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
- Multiple speakers and presentations
Monday, May 28:
- Fifth Annual Presentation of Thousand Flags
- Where: Park at Riverwalk
- Patriotic Fair featuring exhibitors and vendors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Ceremony and presentations 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Flag sponsors may collect flags and certificates 3:30 to 5 p.m.
- United Veteran's of Kern County presents "Celebrating and Honoring"
- Union Cemetery at 9 a.m.
- Hillcrest Mortuary and Cemetery at 11 a.m.
- Live music, balloon release, rifle salute, speakers, etc
