30-year-old Quinton James arrested for murder

Deputies have arrested 30-year-old Quinton James for the shooting death of a man in southeast Bakersfield.

On November 9th, 2015, Kern County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a fight occurring in the 1500 block of South Union Ave., in southeast Bakersfield.

When deputies arrived they located a male victim lying on the ground. The victim was transported to Kern Medical Center with head injuries. On November 27, the victim died as a result of his injuries.

Kern County Sheriff’s homicide detectives began investigating the case and were able to develop probable cause to arrest 30 year old Quinton James for murder. James was arrested on January 5th, 2016 and booked into the Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility for one count of first degree murder. He is being held without bail.
