The ongoing battle over the 24th street widening project was back in court on Friday.
The judge presiding over the case lifted an injunction that was in place, allowing the city to continue the project.
The project would add additional lanes on 24th Street from Highway 99 to M Street.
Construction was halted after the Citizens Against the 24th Street Widening Project filed a lawsuit against the city. One of the factors for stopping the project was the unsatisfactory environmental report the city had first produced.
The city redid their report and today the judge ruled they could move forward.
The citizens say they are going to appeal the judges’ ruling. They have 30 days to do so.
