Bakersfield Fire crews are working to determine the cause of a fire in South Bakersfield on Thursday morning.
The fire was reported in the area of South Myrtle Street and Brite Street just before 6 a.m.
A neighbor spoke to 23ABC and said the house was vacant and was frequented by squatters.
Bakersfield Fire officials could not confirm that squatters had been in the house.
