This summer organizations around Kern County are working to make sure kids who rely on school lunches do not go hungry. 

Kern County school districts and the Kern County Library have partnered to serve lunches for free to any child ages 2 to 18.  They are also offering meals to parents and caregivers, who attend with their child, for a small fee.

Below you will find the dates and times meals are being served at the various Kern County Library branches.

  • Arvin Branch / June 4 – July 26 / Mondays – Thursdays / 12 – 1pm
    Parents & Caregivers (child must be present) are $4
  • Beale Memorial / June 4 – July 27 / Mondays – Fridays / 11:30am – 12:30pm
    Parents & Caregivers (child must be present) are $3
  • Delano Branch / June 12 – July 26 / Tuesdays – Thursdays / 11:30am – 12:30pm
    Parents & Caregivers (child must be present) are $3.75
  • Frazier Park Branch / June 9 – July 27 / excluding June 22 / Tuesdays – Fridays / 12-1pm
    Parents & Caregivers (child must be present) are $3
  • McFarland Branch / June 6 – July 5 / Wednesdays – Thursdays / 11:30am-12:30pm
    Parents & Caregivers (child must be present) are $3.75
  • Ridgecrest Branch / June 5 – July 13 / Tuesdays – Fridays / 11:30am – 12:30pm
    Parents & Caregivers (child must be present) are $3.75
  • Southwest Branch / June 5 – July 27 / Tuesdays – Fridays / 12 – 1pm
    Parents & Caregivers (child must be present) are $3.75

In addition, Panama-Buena Vista, Greenfield and Kern High school districts are offering free meals at their school campuses this summer.
