The Kern County Fire Department announced Sunday morning that the Erskine Fire is now 95 percent contained.
So far, it has burned 48,019 acres.

Officials said Sunday there was very little fire behavior.
All roads remain open with the exception of Piute Mountain Road which is located within the forest closure area.
The Red Cross St. Jude shelter located at 86 Nellie Dent Dr., in Wofford Heights closed at noon yesterday. The shelter at Kernville Elementary will remain open to serve the needs of fire evacuees. '
The Pacific Coast Trail has also been reopened.
Right now there are 154 fire personnel helping to battle the flames.
