Emergency crews battled a train fire in the Mojave area on Wednesday.
California Highway Patrol dispatchers received reports of a train on fire along Highway 14 near Highway 58 at around 4:10 p.m.
Sierra Highway (Highway 14) was closed and vehicle traffic was routed to nearby Trinity Avenue while crews fought the blaze.
Crews were able to knock down the fire by 4:30 p.m. without needing to evacuate any nearby homes or businesses.
The Kern County Fire Department also said that no fuel had leaked from the trains. It's unclear what led to the fire.
