One person was shot and killed outside Tommy's Liquor store on the corner of South Chester and Wilson at 9:30 PM Friday evening.

Police could not say who the victim was or what led up to the shooting.

This is the same location that a 19-year-old man was shot and killed in early December. Police had descriptions of the two suspects involved but no arrests were made.

Police could not confirm if the two shootings are linked.

"Right now we are looking at all possibilities, but at this point we haven't ruled or ruled out that it (Friday's shooting) is or isn't involved," said Sgt. Bobby Woolard, Bakersfield Police Department.

Police suspect that someone walked up and shot the victim while the victim was standing outside the liquor store.

The suspect involved is described as a; Black Male, wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt, dark pants, armed with a handgun.

On Sunday, The  Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 22-year-old Leon Davonta Jones.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this case is encourages to call Detective Rick Dossey at (661) 326-3501 or the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.
