On Wednesday, Kern County Coroner officials released the name of the man shot in Monday's shooting at the Downtown Amtrak station.

Coroner officials identified the man as 45-year-old Jamie Clark Long of Ventura.
On Monday, at about 9:30 a.m. the Bakersfield Police Department received a report of a male brandishing a knife and threatening employees at the Amtrak Station in downtown Bakersfield at 601 Truxtun Avenue.
Several minutes later, a second call was received from an employee of Amtrak who stated this same suspect was now charging at employees with a knife.
Within minutes of the second call, a Bakersfield police detective arrived and contacted the suspect. During the contact, the Detective fired shots, striking the suspect.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene and a knife was recovered. No other people were injured as a result of the officer involved shooting.
A postmortem examination will be scheduled to determine cause and manner of death.
