Fire crews are getting the upper hand on the Cedar Fire, burning in the Greenhorn Mountains in the Kern River Valley.

New numbers released Wednesday morning by the U.S. Forest Service show the fire still covering 29,322 acres. But containment has increased to 75 percent.

Forest Service officials say the fire is estimated to be fully contained by Sept. 10, five days  before the previously reported containment date of Sept. 15.
