BPD arrest man in Southwest Bakersfield murder

Bakersfield police made another arrest in a murder that took place last month in Southwest Bakersfield.

Bakersfield police detectives arrested  21-year-old Alonso Corona  at a residence in Montebello Wednesday night. 

The Montebello Police Department arrested Corona without incident at the residence identified by BPD detectives.

BPD said that their detectives responded to Montebello where they took custody of Corona and transported him back to Bakersfield where he was booked into the Kern County Jail for Murder, Attempted Murder, Gang Member in Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Participation in a Criminal Street Gang and Shooting at an Occupied Dwelling.

Jose Montoya, who is the other suspect is still at large.

Bakersfield police officials already arrested 21-year-old Christian Acero  and 22-year-old Julian Corona last month.
 
Acero and Corona were booked into the Kern County Jail on charges of Murder, Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Conspiracy, and Participation in a Criminal Street Gang.
 
The men are accused of shooting and killing 23-year-old Victor Anaya on the 10900 block of Rancho Cordova Street back on August 15.
 
 
The Investigation is ongoing.
