According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, a body was found in the Kern River Tuesday night around 7 p.m.
At this time it is not known if it is the body of the man who jumped into the river on Sunday afternoon in an attempt to save a child in distress.
However, the body was found in the upper ridge bar area near where the man went missing.
