A big rig fire on Interstate 5 has led to the closure of the rest area in Lebec on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol a big rig caught fire on the Northbound I-5 at the Lebec rest area just after 4 a.m. Tuesday.
The CHP is reporting a semi has caught fire on northbound I-5 near the Lebec rest area. The tractor trailer was reportedly fully engulfed, so this will take a while to clean up. Traffic is currently flowing through the area, but drivers need to slow down near the clean up crews pic.twitter.com/MVtd0i7FrE

Traffic on the I-5 is flowing, but the CHP is calling for the long-term closure of the rest area.
