On Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11:50 p.m., a second alarm from the Bakersfield Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1225 Flower Street in East Bakersfield.
First arriving BFD Firefighters reported a “working fire” in a detached garage to the rear of a single-story, single-family residential structure.
BFD Engine Company Firefighters also noted moderate smoke issuing from the residence and immediately deployed multiple hose lines to address both structures. Additional BFD Firefighters established a hydrant-based water supply and assisted interior crews with a search of the residence.
BFD Truck Company Firefighters provided vertical “roof-side” ventilation to assist interior crews with an interior search and advancement on the fire. It was determined that the residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
BFD Arson Investigators are currently determining the cause of the fire. No civilian or Firefighter injuries were reported.
The total loss is $30,000.
