A female pedestrian was killed Wednesday night after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 395 near Ridgecrest.
The 36-year-old driver was driving a tractor southbound just before 8 p.m. when a 23-year-old walking south stepped out in front of the vehicle.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Highway 395 was closed in both directions a Bowman Road near Ridgecrest following the crash while CHP investigated.
