The Kern County Library is entering a phased reopening with the operation of its Call Center at Headquarters starting Monday and curbside pickup services launching two weeks later.
The Call Center will be able to help with requests the public may have, signing up customers for the online Summer Reading Challenge, and more.
Beginning June 15, the Kern County Library is launching curbside services at seven branches across the County. Curbside services will include pickup of requested items, pickup of genre “grab bags” which include titles selected by our library staff, grab and go lunches (at select locations), pickup of printouts, and customer return of materials.
Additional services, including research services, faxing, and more will be carried out through the Library’s call center at (661) 868-0701, or email at info@kernlibrary.org, and social media communication at Facebook.
For the safety of library staff and community members, public access to library buildings by the public remains temporarily suspended at this time and the Library will not be accepting any physical donations. Customers are encouraged to continue returning materials at library bookdrops across Kern County. Returns will not reflect immediately on customer accounts due to the Library’s three-day quarantine process of materials, which will preserve the safety of staff and community members.
Due dates on materials previously checked out have been extended to July 2.

-Arvin Branch, located at 201 Campus Dr. Curbside service open Tuesdays to Thursdays from 12 to 6 p.m.
-Beale Memorial, located at 701 Truxtun Ave. Curbside service open Mondays to Fridays from 12 to 6 p.m.
-Delano Branch, located at 925 10th Ave. Curbside service open Mondays to Thursdays from 12- to 6 p.m.
-Kern River Valley Branch, located at 7053 Lake Isabella Blvd. in Lake Isabella. Curbside service open Wednesdays to Fridays from 12 to 6 p.m.
-Ridgecrest Branch, located at 131 E. Las Flores Ave. Curbside service open Mondays to Thursdays from 12 to 6 p.m.
-Taft Branch, located at 27 Cougar Ct. Curbside service open Mondays to Wednesdays from 12 to 6 p.m.
-Tehachapi Branch, located at 212 S. Green St. Curbside service open Wednesdays to Fridays from 12 to 6 p.m.
